Somos’ Joel Bernstein Elected as SNAC Co-Chair, Strengthening Leadership in the Toll-Free Industry

East Brunswick, NJ,  March 3, 2025 – Somos, a trusted leader in Toll-Free Numbering and Identity Management, is proud to announce that Joel Bernstein, VP of Regulatory and Public Policy, has been elected as Co-Chair of the SMS/800 Number Administration Committee (SNAC). This appointment recognizes Joel’s dedication and expertise in the Toll-Free industry, reinforcing Somos’ commitment to innovation and leadership in Toll-Free services.

The SNAC, part of the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS), plays a vital role in identifying, developing and implementing solutions that impact existing and emerging toll-free products and technologies. Comprised of volunteer members representing providers and users of the TFNRegistry^TM, SNAC provides recommendations to the system’s owner and manager regarding essential design and management considerations.

As Co-Chair, Joel will work alongside industry peers to support the ongoing development of Industry Guidelines for Toll-Free Number Administration, as well as advancing standards and procedures that enhance coordination between Responsible Organizations (Resp Orgs), customers and service providers. His leadership will be instrumental in addressing key areas such as:

• Process Enhancements

• Customer and Resp Org Requirements

• Provider and Resp Org Requirements

• Technical and Operational Issues

• TFNRegistry Help Desk and Support Processes

With a wealth of experience and deep industry knowledge, Joel Bernstein has been a driving force in fostering seamless collaboration and operational improvements within the Toll-Free ecosystem. His election as SNAC Co-Chair underscores his commitment to ensuring that Toll-Free services continue to evolve and meet the needs of businesses and consumers alike.
