Somos Commends Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on Release of Item to Ensure the Integrity of Texting over Toll-Free Numbers

EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J., June 13, 2018—Somos, Inc., the leading provider of neutral Toll-Free numbering and registry administration services for the telecommunications industry, commends the Federal Communications Commission in releasing its Declaratory Ruling and a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to ensure the integrity of texting to Toll-Free (In the Matter of Texting to Toll Free Numbers, Docket 18-28 and Toll Free Service Access Codes, Docket 95-155).

Ann Berkowitz, Chief Administrative Officer for Somos, the Toll-Free Numbering Administrator, stated, “The Federal Communications Commission took a big step today to ensure the integrity of Toll-Free and protect consumers from fraud. Consumers want to communicate more and more via messaging.
