Giving Back to USO and Veterans Village Las Vegas at #TFUS18

Giving back is part of our culture here at Somos. We were excited to have the opportunity at this year’s Toll-Free User Summit to work together with the industry to prepare care packages for the USO and Veterans Village Las Vegas to help support our military. As part of our Let’s Make a Difference activity, conference attendees were invited to help fill 300 care packages for the men and women of our armed forces.

USO Las Vegas provides a home away from home and a sense of community for the 12,815 active duty troops plus National Guard personnel, Reservist and their families currently stationed in Southern Nevada. They offer morale-boosting and family-strengthening programs, deployment and re-deployment support, discreet and compassionate support for Families of the Fallen, as well as passenger terminal assistance for troops and loved ones alike. Since 2010, they have served more than 290,000 troops and their families.

Veterans Village Las Vegas is dedicated to the creation of an environment that is home to United States Veterans. This is a unique and innovative approach to holistic and comprehensive housing with 24/7/365 crisis intervention center intensive support services. Public and private collaborative partnerships have been created to provide supplies and services to residents including housing, medical and mental health services, employment training, referrals and placements, food pantry/nutrition programs and transportation to the VA Hospital and primary care clinics.
