FCC to Decommission Legacy CORES System this July 15

Users of the Legacy CORES System
Must Transition to CORES2 Prior to July 15, 2022

Recently, the Office of Managing Director announced that, as of July 15, 2022, at 6PM ET, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Legacy Commission Registration System (CORES) (Legacy CORES) will be retired and that CORES2 – which can be found at https://apps.fcc.gov/cores/userLogin.do) – must be used to register for or maintain FCC Registration Numbers (FRNs). This applies to any entity that pays fees to the FCC, including the annual fee that Responsible Organizations pay in September.

What does this mean for you?

If you are a current CORES2 user: Per the FCC, “users already registered in CORES2 can continue to manage their FRNs in CORES2 without change. No additional actions are required for CORES2 users.”

If you are NOT a currently registered CORES2 user: You will need to register in CORES2 BEFORE the July 15 system retirement to gain online access to and manage your FRN(s). Once the CORES system has been decommissioned, you will NOT be able to make any changes in that system, including managing your FRN(s) and resetting your password.
