Exploring Robocall Solutions with Dave Stewart on the Explain to Shane Podcast

In our modern digital age, robocalls and scam attempts have become a ubiquitous nuisance for phone users. They corrode trust between organizations and their customers, and most everyone involved is eager to mitigate them — but with a myriad of complicating factors, effective regulation is easier said than accomplished.

Somos Senior Vice President & Chief Business Development Officer, Dave Stewart, recently joined Shane Tews of Explain to Shane for a discussion on all things robocall and fraud prevention. During the 30-minute podcast, they explored a range of topics, beginning with spam flagging, and its positive and negative impacts on all parties. From there, they moved on to recent collaborative efforts between governmental and industry players to mitigate fraudulent activity, such as STIR/SHAKEN, touching on their strengths and weaknesses along the way.

Dave and Shane also shared projections on the trajectory of the telecom industry in the coming years, evaluating rising technologies like VoIP before once again calling for collaboration between government and industry players to rebuild the trust that’s so desperately needed.
